We’re looking for skilled IT Product Owners to join our Global Business Services (GBS) IT team in Derby. You’ll be accountable for the rapid delivery, profit & loss and performance of all products within your area of delivery with opportunities in the following Product Teams:

• Business Intelligence and Applications
• Production System: Authoring and Simulation; Execution and Shop Floor Systems; Purchasing, Maintenance Repair & Overhaul, Experimental and Global Trade Services.
• Product Development System: Simulation and applications; Test and Measurement; Software Development
• Digital Platforms: Connectivity and Security
• Data and Integration

The IT Product Owner will lead a global team and supply chain to deliver and support their products, with the opportunity to work across all business sectors. You’ll lead a globally distributed team of up to 20 people and the extended supply chain supporting your activity with investment up to £10M per annum.

Key skills

• Technically lead the allocated products and integrated product delivery and support team
• Convert requirements into an architecture and design by consulting with Product Architect and define the blueprint for the solution being created on behalf of the Product Manager
• Overall responsibility for allocated product delivery and service quality
• Contributes to vision, epics and product backlog and owns and delivers team backlog
• Defines sprints and user stories then drives sprint goals and content, prioritises user stories, establishes user story acceptance criteria and accepts sprint increments
• Manages the scope of the current and future activity through acceptance of stories into the baseline and features into the team backlog


• Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline, with Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred.
• Demonstrable leadership of successfully delivered IT capability to time and cost that have included complex work activities covering technical, financial and quality aspects and ideally involving business transformations.
• Significant experience in management of a portfolio of projects or activities, co-ordinating across a set of work packages or projects.
• Experience of leading and working in a global business environment and managing distributed teams.
• Has good business understanding and deep understanding of own specialism(s) and absorbs complex information and communicates effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Actively seeks to understand the implications of new technologies and industry developments, communicating the opportunity and impact to the business
