    Thumbs up New Version!

    Hello everyone,

    I have just finished updating the YouTube-to-Mp3 Converter software. New in this version:

    1. Enabled simple, one-click installation of FFmpeg and cURL via the opening "config check" utility.
    2. Added support for Twitter and Google Drive videos.
    3. Updated and improved the majority of supported site extractors in the "extractors" directory.
    4. Enabled rotation of multiple URL Shortener services for built-in interstitial advertising feature.
    5. Moved all software-generated dependencies and files to a new "store" folder.
    6. Updated Dropbox API requests to v2 of the API.
    7. Fixed bug that could possibly allow execution of arbitrary commands on server.
    8. Improved conversion form validation to prevent possible filesystem errors and/or abuse.
    9. Updated media player on post-conversion editing screen to accommodate browsers (i.e., Safari and mobile browsers) that no longer support "autoplay" (on page load).
    10. Improved loading performance of navbar links when they're automatically rearranged to fit the current window size.
    11. Various (minor) bug fixes and refactoring of code.

    The following files were updated/added:

    1. .htaccess updated! *
    2. Config.class.php updated! *
    3. VideoConverter.class.php updated! *

    Hi Randall,
    thank you for the new version

    Although I set "const _ENABLE_DIRECT_DOWNLOAD = true", software still do a ffmpeg conversion. posted volume is also equal to default volume.
    I want all video downloads from youtube without ffmpeg conversion when the server load is high.

    can you please help?

    thank you

    Assuming that you've not otherwise modified the software, then the only way this could be true is if the requested video file type is "not" available from YouTube. In that case, and only in that case, FFmpeg must be used to encode the video to the requested file type.

    If you don't want this behavior, then you could at least remove all supported video file types (like F4V) that are never directly available from YouTube.

    This is a bug in the software. Thank you for reporting it!

    Apparently, newer versions of FFmpeg no longer support setting volume via the '-vol' flag. Instead you must use the format: '-filter:a "volume=X"'. I don't know when exactly this became the new standard.

    To fix the issue, please apply the following changes to the default software:

    1) In Config.class.php, change all instances of:

    PHP Code:
    -vol %volume
    ...to:

    PHP Code:
    -filter:"volume=%volume%"
    ...and change line 421 as follows:

    PHP Code:
    const _VOLUME 1;  // Default volume. E.g., 0.5 is 50% of the input volume, 1 is 100%, 1.5 is 150%, 2 is 200%, etc.
    2) In VideoConverter.class.php, change line 215 as follows:

    PHP Code:
    $convertedFvolume = (isset($moreOptions['volume'])) ? $moreOptions['volume'] : parent::_VOLUME
    3) In inc/index_js.php, change the following code starting at line 223 as follows:

    PHP Code:
    $("#volumeSlider").slider({
      range: "min",
      min: 0,
      max: 400,
      value: <?php echo Config::_VOLUME?> * 100,
      slide: function(event, ui) {
        $("#volumeVal").html(ui.value + '%');
        var volume = ui.value / 100;
        $("input[name='volume']").val(volume);
      }
    });
    Please let me know if this resolves the issue for you. I have already updated the software on Tinypass with this new code.

    Thanks again!
    Regards, R.J.

    Thanks for the update Randall,
    the volume fix did the trick
    one other thing I have came accross is this :

    In VideoConverter.class.php, under function 'DownloadConvertedFile' the variables '$ftype' and '$vidHost' are always undefined/empty , seems like another bug or I am playing around too much

    thank you again

    I noticed that the speed of downloading audio files from Youtube to the server is very slow, seems to be limited
