    How accurate is geolocation?

How effective is geolocation in determining the local time of a computer? As far as I know, the geolocation process asks the user's computer for it's ip address, then makes a call to an external database to gather information about the location of that ip address.

For my website, it will be very important for my server to know the local time of every user''s computer who goes to my website.

The accuracy of GeoLocation depends on which of the different ways is used to determine it.

The least accurate is using the IP address - it is accurate for identifying the country that the ISP that the connection is using is located in but is not necessarily any more accurate than that.

Where the person is using a mobile device with built in GPS and grants permission for that to be used for GeoLocation you can determine their location to within a few metres.

All the other methods are somewhere in between.

Geo location engage utilizing the correct location featured in photo or video content based on longitude and latitude coordinates attached digitally to the media file manually.
