    getting pdf thumbnail without photoshop

so I have a whole set of pdf documents that what I'd been doing was opening it in photoshop (which only opens the first page...or whichever page I tell it) and then I resize that first page to a 150x196 - easy enough right?

well here's the thing - I'm currently without photoshop on my home computer and I'm hoping that there's another way to do it

in addition, this particular set of documents has permissions on it so I'm not able to open it in photoshop - just opening it in FF and taking a screenshot and working it that way in photoshop

so for both cases, I need a reliable way to create these thumbnails - would that be GIMP?

    Hello dnnhater,
    Maybe something here will help?
Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
Use a DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad
