The browser could be reloading the items from cache. Try flushing the browser's history after doing the change.

Some people want caching on, some want it off ...

Google search: turning off wordpress caching

You'll get answers both ways. Caching could be by wordpress itself and/or browser. But I suspect you are seeing wordpress caching.

When you say it takes 1 or 2 days, are you talking about what search engines show in their result or when you go to the updated page (through safe browsing) and you dont see updated content immediately?

have you installed a plugin that manages your cache? if so, then when you update your wordpress content, you need to tell that plugin to refresh itself right there. Otherwise, it will take few hours or days.
