Thumbs up Are you agree that a virtual-machine is only recommanded for software development ?

Hey people, hope you are good,

I just want to make a little survey about virtual machine (VM). People talk about VM as an important tools for development, but finally it's seems to me that is very important notably for software development because in web development the programs can't reach the operating system.

What do you think about that ?

    Kind regard,
    Laurent.

I’m not sure what your actual question is. A virtual machine in web development is useful to test your site in different browsers in different OSs.

No, you can’t download different versions of Internet Explorer or Edge on the same system. Also, not all browsers are available for all operating systems (Safari for Windows? Nope. IE/Edge on Linux/Unix or macOS? Nope.). And another thing: unless you have an actual device running these operating systems you also can’t test browsers of mobile OSs (Android, iOS) without a virtual machine.

Hi Laurent, are you asking what VMs are useful for?
