    Questions about software engineering.

I have my BS in Industrial Engineering, but am becoming interested in software engineering and considering going into it for a masters program. However, I know next to nothing about coding. How much of a problem will that be for me?

    Thanks in advance!

If you are going into a Master's program, I would think knowing "next to nothing about coding" would be a big issue! There is a chance that you may have to demonstrate some of your knowledge before being accepted onto the program.

I would start by learning a couple of languages, at least give yourself a basic knowledge. As you said you are interested in software engineering. I would try to learn C++ or Java.

I don't think you will face much problem. You could do one thig you can take course of duration 1or 2 month and learn some of the programming languages. That's more than enough and can go for masters.

Agreed. Trying to get a masters in something you have no practical experience in isn't a good idea. Get some languages under your belt, than you'll have even more fun in your Masters course.

    Hiii!!
You are coming from BS background so You will be faced some problems at starting time. But no need to worry about it, you can learn programming from scratch because lots of resources are available on internet at free of cost to learn programming.
Now, If you want to go for master in Software engineering then first learn from C language because C contains basic concepts of any programming languages. so it's concepts will help you to clear your logic. Then start from C++ and JAVA to learn OOPs concepts. Because learning Oops(Object oriented Programmings) is necessary to understanding of programming.
This Three languages will help you to clear your basics about programming and then you will have to choose further languages according to your master's syllabus and your interest for which language you want to pursue your Master's degree.

Here i add some links to learn C, C++ & JAVA which is the famous tutorials site. Also, Search about this languages on youtube, you will get idea about these languages.
