View Full Version : Page positioning?

I'm not sure if there's a way to do this, but maybe someone has an answer.
When I click the number to view the image I have to scroll down to see it all. When I click the the next one it shifts back to the top of the page and then I have to scroll down again to view the new image. Is there a way/code to keep the page in position and not shift back to the top? Thanks.

Here's the link:

Oh that's such a nice looking page... it's sad that it has such bad code behind it (no doctype, no CSS at all and tables for layout... bah!). But well let's get to the actual problem:

I don't have to scroll anywhere on that page (I suppose you mean the popup?) since it has a fixed height and can't be resized but I think the problem lies in the onclick events of the links. You have to tell the browser not to jump to the top when the link is clicked. So wherever you have this line:
onClick="document.stage.src='images/art1_[n].jpg';" you have to add return false; at the end like so:

onClick="document.stage.src='images/art1_[n].jpg'; return false;"
...and you never have to scroll anymore. :)

* [n] stands for number

Thank you very much for your help Stephan.
I know. My web building skills suck ***, but I can design them. What do you want from me, I'm only a dumb artist. Thanks again, I appreciate your help.

Dude, if you could add some CSS skills to your design abilitities you'd be the man on the 'net! :) Your work would be gratefully appreciated on the CSS Zen Garden (http://csszengarden.com).

And now that I clicked your link once again I actually see the issue... for some reason the popup window is smaller now.... well the changes I mentioned should fix that.
