View Full Version : Web Advertising...How?!?

Of course all good websites need users, what good would it be if no one came to visit? Of course different people view different sites. Question is, how do you go about advertising. I have considered google and adword and all that, but is there some kind of a list of free places that you can list your site so that people who are interested in a type of web site could visit? I have searched and have not been very successful.

Anyone have any website advertising ideas?

I'm not sure I totally understand your request: do you want to know how to promote your own site, or do you want to place advertisements of other sites on yours?

I want to know how to advertise my own site. Where I could advertise that attract people.

Wouldn't it be enough to be found via Google and the likes? Or isn't your site distinctive enough to get sufficiently high ranking?

Well I have not yet created the site. But I have been thinking hard about putting a big project together. I just wanted to do my homework ahead of time and find out if there are better, more effective ways of getting your name out there other than the obvious...(google). So I guess I just wanted your input on other web advertising ideas.

I think you might mean directories...?

For a start, try dmoz.org, but there are plenty of others.

Submit to directories like Yahoo and Dmoz and also a few smaller free and paid directories. Don't rely totally on Dmoz though, there is a possibility that your site may or may not get listed. If it does it may even take a long time to do so. Exchanging links with sites whose concept is similar to your site might also help to some extent.

Firstly Vapor,

What type of site s it?

Once you know this go out and find more like it.

Then do hardlink trades / traffic trades with these sites.

You cannot, and will not, get free traffic from google yahoo and other major traffic pools buy just submitting your site to them unless the surfer browsing google goes through 8,600,000,000 results to find your page.

Also if you want and can code in php well i will send you through clicks for custom built scripts.

Just private message me.
