This has been bugging me for a while, I hope somebody can help.

When I am editing my site, all the images that I insert display correctly, as they should, they are also ok when the webpages are previewed in a browser.

Once I upload the site, The images disappear but not all of them, only some. I know that they do exist on the pages, other people can see them.

I cannot see them in either IE or FF

To see an exmaple;

On my home page (don't expect to much please, it's only a FrontPage special) there are ten thumbnails halfway down the page, these are all fine, I can view them. Just to the right of the thumbnails are 3 buttons 1 for blog (I can view this), 1 for a cat diary (I can view this) and one white box which you can click for my guestbook/map... This is what I cannot see yet everyone else can!

I am mystified.

Thanks in advance if you are able to help :thumbsup: the homepage is RIGHT HERE (http://www.catsnaps.co.uk/www/home.html)

34 views and no replies... Is this something that people have not heard of or seen before?

I can't help thinking that it is something to do with caching or temp files but I have been through all of that stuff with to no avail. If all the pictures on my screen were failing to display then I would know where to start, this is very annoying, please help if you can, thanks.

Could you at least let me know whether you have veiwed the offending pic successfully or not and in what browser? Thanks

I can see the images just as you stated... I would try clearing the cache and history on your personal system...

Another thing you can attempt is using meta tags (http://vancouver-webpages.com/META/metatags.detail.html) to force a reload of the page content... 'Expires' handles this quite nicely.

Do you block your referrer when browsing the web (eg: so a page cant see the last location you came from (if you are using norton, theres a good chance you do)), and if you do, does your web hosting account have hotlink protection set up? There can be occasional problems with null referrers but it seems strange that some images would show up at all.

Thanks you 2, these all seem like very good tips, I will check and post the solution if it does crop up, Thanks.

OK... I have altered and/or disabled every part of Norton. I have tried using a GIF and a JPG, I have checked out my hot links and obstructed file types. I am totally lost with this one, there is no reason that this shouldbe happening and yet it is.

I also get the same thing on a new site that I am building, but with multiple images. Not just one. I am at my witts end and I really will burn FrontPage by the end of this weekend. I will post the pics :)

Could you possibly give us a screenshot of what you are seeing?
