This is my new online diary (www.uselessromantic.co.uk). I'll warn you now that although there are no explicit images of any kind there's a fair bit of bad language.

It's my first experiment with moveabletype, and I'm still getting to grips with the way it works. Pretty designs are not my strong point so ideas for how it should look are most important, although any constructive criticism is more than welcome.

body {
font-family: verdana, sans-serif;
font-size: 8pt;
margin-top: 0;

the header looks funny sitting off the top like that and that hard edge on the splatter.

This is a template right? Didn't it have a border around it? Since you've taken it off and went for stark white I think you should make the header image not have that sharp edge on the left side. a little cut here a little paste there and a flip horizontally can make it look better.

and for the love of god don't break up with your girl through an email!

It wasn't really viewable for me :(

I am using Firefox 1.0.7 and with my styling the background is gray. Thus, because your background is not specified white (which is what I am assuming it's supposed to be) I couldn't make out the text very well.

Try this:

body {
background : #fff;

Cool banner :)

Thanks for the tips guys, I will definately try to follow them. It's not a template by the way - and I will not break up with my girl through email. A text message is much friendlier.
