View Full Version : UK - the internet's dead?

56k's rule in Britain, ADSL is not happening anytime soon, BT is dragging its heal to the point that any progress towards higher speeds is forced upon them by government watchdogs. Common sites like Hotmail and other sites with security measures choke 56kers. The internet is getting nowhere in Britain, it's no better than it was 3-4 years ago as download speeds are too slow and site's are now subtly being designed for faster connections. Add to that the silly cost of even unmetered 56k access.
