View Full Version : IFRAME Question

Thought I'd ask before trying this as it may prove quite awkward with the layout of my site!

Is it possible to make an IFRAME have a fixed background image. And then make every page that opens on it transparent

ie using -

in the <body> tag

I know I could add the background image to each page, but I don't want it disappearing everytime a page loads.

Have I got this correct?

If so, could someone let me know the tags I need to use in the <IFRAME> tag.

If anyone can give me ideas as to how I could do this please let me know. I would have tried it myself, but my site is a little too complex to test it on!

Please help if you can

You could try two Iframes one on top of the other

<iframe src="iframe1.htm" allowtransparency="true" style="position:absolute;left:100;top:100; z-index:2"></iframe>
<iframe src="iframe2.htm" frameborder="no" scrolling="no" style="position:absolute;left:100;top:100"></iframe>

Unless you want to go with layers and innerText,

or position a table with your background then have the iframe over the top with the "allowtransparency"

Thanks I'll give it a try!

that seems like a kind of convoluted way of doing it, to me. how about putting the iframe inside of a div, making the iframe transparent, and giving the div the background?

<div style="background-image: url('somebackground.gif');">
<iframe allowtransparency="true">

it was just a few thoughts going round in my head.

All depends how extravagant Golden_Eagle wants to be
