View Full Version : Creating tables without bevelled border

07-15-2005, 06:37 PM
I am working on a stylesheet that specifies a table element with a 1 pixel silver border and a dark silver background. (A darker shade so that the border is discernable) The problem is that in the HTML document, the table appears with a bevelled border rather than just a solid color. I am using Adobe GoLiveCS on Macintosh.

Could anybody please help me out?? This is one of those nerve-racking things that is really annoying!!http://www.codingforums.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=13#

Show us your CSS code for the table.

Here is the CSS code:

/* Styles for display tables */

table.perimeter {border-color: EBEBEB;
border-width: 1px;
background-color: silver;
padding: 5px;
width: 100%;}

Specify all the border attributes as one?

border: 1px solid #EBEBEB;

That was it. To make the border so that it is not bevelled, I had to set the CSS border-style attribute to "solid".

Thanks for all the help.
