View Full Version : Dynamically change img sources in a pop up???

Hi all,

I am using Java script to perform a sort of client side form processing. What I want to do is take the results of a form and display them in a pop up window. I have had luck with the text portion of the process, but what I want to do is take the file path from the <input type="file"> part of the form and make that the source for an image in the pop up window. If anyone out there has any input that would be great. Also I just started in Java script one week ago so any style or format input would also be appreciated.

Here is what I have so far.

<script LANGUAGE="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
function display()

var output_window = window.open('','final_output')
output_data = "<img src=rlslogo.gif><br><br>";
output_data += "<form name='output_form'>";
output_data += "<b>Building: </b>" + document.input_form.building.value;
output_data += "<br><b>Grid Location: </b>" + document.input_form.location.value;
output_data += "<br><b>Comments: </b>" + document.input_form.comments.value;
output_data += "<br><textarea name='test' rows='10' cols='54'></textarea></form>";
output_data += "<br><img name='photo1' src=document.input_form.filefield1.value";

<img src=rlslogo.gif><br><br>

<form name="input_form">

<input type="text" name="building"><br><br>

<b>Grid Location:</b><br>
<input type="text" name="location"><br><br>

<textarea name="comments" rows="10" cols="54"></textarea><br><br>

<b>Choose Photo(s):</b><br>
<input type="file" value="filefield1"><input type="file" value="filefield2"><br>
<input type="file" value="filefield3"><input type="file" value="filefield4"><br><br>

<input type="button" value="Process" name="process" onClick=display();>
