Hi I am trying to create an image, this is all I get, anybody got any ideas what can be going on here?

JFIF>CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), default quality C $.' I'd say it's the image displayed as text. If you are printing it on a page you might have forgotten to set the correct header:

header('Content-Type: image/jpeg');

that's what I was thinking, but not the source of the problem, mine was identical to yours, I have tried putting it as the very first line, and also as the line previous to the imageJPEG(), but both results are the same.
When I pull the page up in Firefox, I get the following message,
The image http://www.mydomain.com/favnet.php cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

any other ideas?

Joe bob,
I got around it by taking the php code and putting it on a different page, I guess I was passing some data to the browser that I couldnt see, before the headers function.

try it on a separate page, and see if it doesnt work.
