I've been reading about the annual MSDN subscription. It looks interesting, but the price is just a tad steep. Although the software and code samples that you get through the subscription probably help offset that cost...And it seems to be a good package to have if you are doing any real development for Windows.

I've done a little searching about it on the web, and apparently there is an academic version I may be able to get...Or I could spring for the Professional version.

Does anyone here subscribe to MSDN? If so, is it worthwhile?

Well, lets just say I had access for a while. That being said, it's freakin' awesome. Though since I wasn't actually the one paying for it, I can't say I could give you a real "is it worth it" critique. Darn worth it for free though. :D

Back in the day when I bought Visual Studio 6 when it came out, I got a free two year subscription to MSDN. It wasn't anything spectacular, it was just the type of subscription where they sent the CDs every quarter. It was nice having that though. At my old job we had the MSDN Universal subscription and that was certainly nice, but then again I wasn't paying for it, lol.
