View Full Version : iframe in table cell - unwanted white space on right hand side

First off this looks like a really valuable forum - stumbled on it and the dozen or so threads I've read have looked really high quality.

Ok, so enough of the sucky intro :)

I'm sure I've solved this in the past (and should have noted the solution down of course!), so I'm hoping someone can quickly clarify where the problem is coming from....

The actual operating page is complex, involving xml, xsl, js, css & html, however the problem can be illustrated with even a simple html doc - I've attached (or at least hope I have!) as a txt file as I'm still figuring out how to post code nicely :)

With a one cell table, where there is an iframe inside the cell, and I believe I've set all width attributes to 100% it's rendered by the browser (currently testing IE 6 - mozilla/firefox testing later...) with a blank area to the right of the iframe.

Can this be prevented using css/html (pref. not js)?

p.s. I know tables and iframes aren't the best solution to inline content, however I need to make the site easily maintainable by the non-web-savy and simply having a source doc in an iframe seems pretty simple!

could this blank area be the scrollbar! your html,body css should look something like this

<style type="text/css">
html,body {
and y you are using an iframe in this case i dont know, would be simple just to edit the html directly dont u think, o well, and to post coding you would use the code tags
[ code]your coding[ /code] without the spaces
