View Full Version : CSS Text Problem..

Hi Guys..
I seem to have a text wrap problem with my site which I'm re designing.
The new one is located at http://www.jamierees.co.uk/newsite/

The problem is that I want the text well the <h6> text at the top of the #content div. In the design view of Dreamweaver, it looks fine, so does the about.php page. However in Firefox and IEvil, there is 2 or 3 lines of spacing.

Knowing me, it's probably something that I've missed *slaps head in advance*, but I'm starting to think it's something else..

Also with about.php, the text wraps down over the #content div and disappears. I haven't really played around with this and would be grateful if someone could take a look *shouts for Ollie or Brady :D*

btw - the style sheet is loacated here: http://www.jamierees.co.uk/newsite/mainstyle.css < Validates with no warnings or problems. The pages are also Valid XHTML 1.1.

Looking at your HTML you seem to be confused about the usage of <hx> elements. They're for headings, not large bodies of text. They're also suppose to suggest a hierarchy within your document. You have an H6 above a H2.

}That completely removes the margins between the two elements. However you really should correct your markup.

O yeh I know about that - I used a range of <hx> tags rather than <p id="whatever" </p> for some reason. However, I'm going to correct that as the heading tags don't really suit my needs and are messing my markup up.

btw cheers for the help

ZIP it all up for me, and I'll have a go at fixing the markup and the CSS :D . I reckon part of your problem is the fact that your using <h#> tags for <p>s.

Hi Ollie.
Ye I know about that - I've just got in from school so I'll have a crack at rectifying that little hitch now :D

btw if you want the zip, I'll upload it and will tell you the link through Messenger.

Righteo, cheers for the help. I replaced the tags like <h4> etc with <p class="navtxt">text</p> and then sorted out the css. I also tidied up the css and markup so it looks better..
cheers for the help
