Hi,

I have a three-column layout made using CSS on my site that was working fine in all browsers - until Firefox 1.0 came out.

The basic layout has a wrapper div, then left and right floated divs, (floated to the left and right, respectively), then a content div with margins large enough have the floated divs in them.

The problem I am having is that when I clear an element in the maincontent div it clears past the entire left or right floated div. This only happens in firefox 1. It did not happen on FF0.9 and does not happen in IE.

Has anyone else encountered this and does anyone know of a relatively easy fix?

You some pages this occurs on are http://www.the-ballet.com/nutcracker.php and http://www.the-ballet.com/studiostage.php

Thanks,

John

Mozilla corrected their behaviour to eliminate the last major CSS bug. Opera does something very similar to moz on that page. The new behaviour is, of course, compliant with the spec.

The solution is to either not clear at all, or to make sure the column establishes a new block formatting context (http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/visuren.html#block-formatting).

Ok, I hadn't realized that that was a but I was exploiting. I'll have to work on that.
