when i create the popup window, scrollbars yes and no work
but auto doesnt it behaves the same as if it were no.

i have no idea why it doesnt produce them when the window
is too small for the page which takes up nearly all the screen.
1*** by 7** etc

the popup is set with no location bar staus bar address etc
so just the title bar.

the page is near enough 100% images working as buttons
with just one text box and 3 pull down menus. no text.
no matter how small it gets they dont appear. does anyone
have any idea whats going on and how to sort it out?

window.open('nrc.html?,', null,'width=100,height=100,resizable=yes,scrollbars=auto')

To my knowledge, those window feature items only accept boolean values (yes|no -or- 1|0)

Effectively, yes or 1 should be the same as auto (just like on a normal window)

I have seen on other sites when they talk about popup windows
they have scrollbars=auto and claim that you dont see them
until they are needed. not even with the greyed out bar.

hmm its confusing.

anyway thanks for the info :)

i have seen some code which hides and unhides the scroll bar
with the use of buttons which was simple and just a couple of

does someone know how to do something similar where when
the mouse cursor is up againts the right hand side of the window
the scroll bar slides in just like the start menu bar when you have
it on auto hide.

thanks in advance
