View Full Version : Accursed tab button

I am in a webgame ring and thus have a sort of puzzle in it. Also, by the rules, I must not obstruct the destination with any required passwords or game parts. Thus I must use hidden links. The problem is the accursed tab button. As long as there is one link that you can click on, you can click down on it, move the mouse off of it, unclick(item now has box around it), and use 'tab' or 'shift'+'tab' to roll along all of the links revealing them. My Script that blocks the statusbar on mouseovers and the message that I added is totally annialated and the link shows its ugly head. Is there any way I can stop this?
Might as well add this, I'm trying to make buttons that depending on whether you have clicked on another link will send you to a different place. I know this probably has to do with cookies... but since the end of last year, COOKIES HAVE BEEN THE BANE OF MY EXISTANE!!! Plus I haven't found the script to do this anywhere, although I've seen it, so far it has been in JAVA, not Javascript. The tab thing I haven't seen anywhere at all.

This should not be done in a regular web site but since this is a game...

<a href="page.htm" onfocus="this.blur()">hidden link</a>

or you could attached the onfocus handler programmatically:

for (var i=0;i<document.links.length;i++){

if you want only selected links, then you can put a condition before setting the onfocus event handler.
