View Full Version : Why do columns superimpose in IE 5?

I have a simple page done with an external CSS style sheet.

This consists of a top section, left, center and right columns plus a footer.

In NS 7 it all lines up perfectly whilst in IE5 the right column superimposes itself onto the left. I have absolutely no idea how to sort this out.

both the left and right columns are position absolute whilst the center is free. All widths, paddings, margins are in %.

#contacts {
position: absolute;
width: 21.9%;
height: 220px;
overflow: hidden;
margin-left: 75%;
padding: 0% 1.5%;
top: 100px;
color: White;
background-color: #153976;
border-top: 1px solid #A5B5C6;

This is the code for the right column from the style sheet

thanks for your time
