View Full Version : Programming Books

I've just finished a software development course at college and I am going to start a Software Engineering course at University next year.

We only did some basic coding at college using Visual Basic, HTML, Pascal and JavaScript and in my gap year I'd like to improve my coding abilities.

I have been looking at getting a book to learn some programming. An example of what I'm thinking about would be C for Dummies (http://www.dummies.com/store/product/C-For-Dummies-2nd-Edition.productCd-0764570684.html).

I'm just wondering what books would people recommend to start learning and if you have uses these books yourselves, and what you think of them.

Thank you.
