View Full Version : Scaling div over max-width in container

Hi guys,
I have a css issue i am sitting on now for about 5 hours and cannot solve it properly.
Here is the code:

Now the problem:
#main has to be like this, so it should get extended to the bottom of the page and have a width of max. 100% of the body's width.
#content is the container with all my intern stuff in it and should be extended automatically. I cannot assign a fixed width to it since my page has an extended width depending on the content.
If i extend the content now everything works correctly until #content "should get" a bigger width than #main but it doesn't.

Is there any solution with css only? Or do i have to use javascript to assign #content a fixed width on every resize of the content.

Best regards
