View Full Version : Fast hosting for PHP, mysql project - opinions

I'm working on a project that uses:
-mysql database
-java applets that access the mysql database on the server

my main concern is speed, along with reliability
I'm based in Australia - would prefer a local-ish data center location.

I've found "hostingbay.com.au" who make use of unix servers, would this make a speed difference for hosting php/mysql?

any other opinions about hostingbay, or any other recommendations of host providers for my purposes?

well I've decided I'll go with a provider named Quadra Hosting.

and I'm assuming unix hosting WILL be faster than windows for PHP - mysql

I've used 6 or 7 different hosts and so far hostmonster.com is the very best. Fast and reliable with excellent tech support. It's US based, but is still a winner.

I believe that there are tons of web hosting providers claiming they offer the best PHP hosting services.
But it will be reasonable to choose Reputed, time-tested web host that has servers close to the target of your audience.I would recommend vpswebserver.com who are very reliable and cost effective. the good news is this that currently they are offering 50% discount on all their packages and also 5 vpn connection quite free
