View Full Version : Help! Content won't show up after 'code cleanup'

Help!

I was just finished with my client's design and wanted to clean up the code. The only thing I did was adding some HTML comments for easier updating the content. But now the entire site is blank, however the elements are still loading (and the load completes) but is 'invisible'. The background is showing as usual. I didn't do any changes to the Stylesheet during the cleanup. What could possibly be wrong with the code preventing it from displaying?

The site: http://santinacrolla.no/p
The style: http://santinacrolla.no/stylesheets/portraits_style.css

I'm forever grateful of constructive replies.

EDIT: Copy-pasted the entire head area including starting div-tags from a working page, I can't figure out what caused the trouble as I didn't change anything there either...

EDIT #2: The problem seems to occur when I remove the html-tag from above the DOCTYPE info, which is totally weird. Isn't it supposed not to be inside the html-tag?

There is no html mark up on your main page and the css does not exist.

Might want to clean up the coding errors:

CSS (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profile=css21&warning=0&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fsantinacrolla.no%2Fp%2F) (Ignore any CSS 3 "errors" flagged)

117 HTML errors (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fsantinacrolla.no%2Fp%2F)

Re #2) Your document type goes above the html tag.

Coding to XHTML 1.0 Strict requires the correct syntax be used. You are using many outdated (deprecated) tags like the font tags.
