View Full Version : Unable to map network drive in Windows 7 to local CentOS VM

I have a CentOS VM setup on my local Windows 7 machine for web development purposes and I need the ability to setup a Samba share in Windows to let me access the files.

I have an IP allocated to the VM of and this shows when I do a ip a in the VM. However, for some reason I am unable to map a network drive in Windows. I am attempting to map a drive called "T" to \\craig

I have checked my samba config and it allows me 192.168 addresses.

I am connecting over WiFi to my Netgear Wireless Router.

The confusing part of this is that I managed to set this up on another network, with another local IP address (still within the 192.168.x.x network) last week.

you dont need Samba share within Windows..

it should allow you to share within VMWare itself in the Settings you then have to install the VMware tools but what ever Folder you set to share it should come up on the Desktop of any V-OS
