View Full Version : Design CSS or HTML ? Help

I am not sure what I require, I have created a online Javascript calculator which works fine but the layout doesnt look good.

I want to try and get it laid out something like the excel file at
http://www.diamondledlighting.co.uk/calculator_led.xls

I have no idea where to start so any help would be much appreciated

Look into HTML forms and CSS divs / classes.

That would be the majority of your layout.

I know that my post might not seem like a direct answer, but your question can't really be answered directly.

Something I generally go by.. HTML pages should only contain objects. Lists, forms, divs, etc... (Or anything that can literally be interacted with by a user.) Any physical styling of these objects should be in an external stylesheet.
It's very important to keep these things separate. This way altering the look of your design will remain fairly simple.

Additional things to look into would be conditional comments (helps to have separate stylesheets for different browsers), and doctypes.
