Hi,
Could you please tell me is there any websites that provide mini projects that you can work on to develop your newly acquired HTML skills?

from there add some more text and links, etc.

Start right here in this forum.

1. Read the next question.
2. Think about how you might solve it.
3. Try your solution(s).
4. Read what other people have posted.
5. Try those solutions.
6. Notice that you may have learned something.
7. Go back to step number 1.

all very good suggestions; however I too found it easier to learn based off of a set of requirements. I asked someone I knew to give me a site to build and then figured out how to do it.

Here is an exercise then!

Since you are just learning html and not dabbling in CSS let's jsut do HTML!

Create a page that looks like this

Make a page with the right doctype declaration

add meta tags for search engines and a title bar

add a background to your body

--------------------------------------
header (centered)
--------------------------------------
Menu | Menu | Menu | Menu

Header for the content goes here
make it a header 2

add an image and an image description using alt

Text goes here for the body and make 3 paragraphs

make a footer paragraph that has an email link in it.

Hard mode! Make a link that pops up in another window.

Extra hard mode! Do the whole thing in xhtml for max compatibility

Finally be sure to validate this and make sure to fix all errors!

There is an exercise! It should help! :D
