Hi all,

My dad wants to play Crysis (with his new PC that I'm yet to buy him).

There's *edit* 100 ($156) left in his budget for a graphics card.

So... decisions decisions.

I need to choose a gfx card that will allow him to get the best quality/performance out of Crysis for this price, preferrably on the High setting.

He doesn't have to play it at stupidly high resolutions.

So let's say 1366x768 minimum, 1680x1050 maximum.

Or am I wasting my time? If he can only afford 100, surely the gfx card at that price will be the best he can hope for? I'm just wondering which company - ATI or nVidia has the edge at this price range today.

I'll keep looking but if you have an idea please let me know :)

These are the minimum system requirements for Crysis2 right off their website. So you would at least have to have this or better from either company. Just the minimum can put you right at your budget so trying to find something for the best performance will likely cost more than what you have left in your budget. You'll need to find a good deal somewhere.

Operating system: Windows 7 / Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) / Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

Processor: 2Hz Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2 or better

Memory: 2 GB or more; 3 GB for Windows Vista (SP1)

Disc Drive: 8X or faster

Hard Disk Space: At least 9 GB of free space

Video: DirectX 9.0c compatible video card 512 MB*
* NVidia 8800GT with 512 MB RAM, ATI 3850HD with 512 MB RAM, or better.

Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

Input: Keyboard, Mouse or Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows
