Can anyone link where I can find current a w3 compliant tag list.. w3schools (I've already read the bad sh- about them) does not have an updated list of depreciated tags eg it still lists <b> as a valid tag
*note: I am not looking for a list of tags that STILL work; looking for a list of tags that are w3 standard.

Also css

First off w3schools isn't w3.org Here is a list for HTML 4.01
http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/index/elements.html (mind you HTML 5 is coming soon)
XHTML Transitional is similar.

XHTML Transitional is similar.

XHTML Strict will be much if not exactly the same in terms of available elements. The main difference between xhtml and html is that inline elements like img need to end with a /> and not just a >

I suspect html5 being released by the w3c is long way off yet and who knows how long it will be before the major browsers fully implement the final released html5 recommendations.

I'd stick with either html4 or xhtml Strict atm. Personally I'm not touching html5 for any commercial work until it is first released by the w3c and then significantly if not totally implemented by the browsers I support.
