View Full Version : How do I pass data from one page to another page to a final page?

I have three pages, the first two collect data via forms and the third page displays the collected data.

Form One (Registration Form)

<form id="registrationForm" action="DegreePrograms.aspx" method="get" runat="server">

Form Two (Degree Form)

<form id="DegreeForm" action="RegistrationComplete.aspx" method="get" runat="server">

At this point I have access to all of the data from the Registration Form via the request.Param("") function. The question is, how do I pass the data from the Degree Form and the Registration form to the final page?

Hey bobleny,

Please research about usage of the Get and Post methods in .NET (plenty of examples out there). If your form(s) have alot of fields, I would suggest using the Post method, since the Get method allows for only 255 character length to be passed (if I remember correctly). Plus, if you're looking for more security, you don't want to be passing the stuff in a string for all to see (and play with). Anyway, in your first two forms, change the action attribute to point to your third page, where you will pick up the data via server-side code.

In this You can redirect the user to the next page with the data in a query string, then in the second page you can parse the URL.
