I am working on a website and I designed it with the more current browsers in mind. But they have requested for it to be compatible with IE6 and that is where I'm stuck. I have no experience with dealing with these issues so if anyone can help me out that would be a pleasure.

So far these are the current issues I have found.
`background
`float (Info, News)
`png
`:hover

Not sure what "background" might be.

Have a look here (http://positioniseverything.net/explorer.html) for float issues.

IE6 and hover: http://www.xs4all.nl/~peterned/csshover.html

IE6 and PNG: http://www.twinhelix.com/css/iepngfix/

or just Google...

Im thinking that the background issue is related to the png issue. Ill find out once I get it to work, but right now its failing on me.

-Edit-
So it fixed (somewhat) the png transparency issue, but it breaks even more stuff.
Now the footer is offset-ed and the navigation is 'choppy'
it also slows down the page a considerable amount

You could try these for PNG fix in IE:

PNG – forcing PNG alpha transparency support in IE. Unless in IE specific style sheet, this will invalidate code.

.img-wrapper div {
filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader
(src=’/img/shadow2.png’, sizingMethod=’crop’);
background: none; }

behavior - IE PNG fix

img, div {
behavior: url(iepngfix.htc); }

A good resource for IE bugs and fixes is Position Is Everything (http://www.positioniseverything.net/explorer.html).
