View Full Version : Strange CSS issue- shows up about 50% of the time...

Hi! I'm new to these forums and I'm starting off with a really weird issue.

I'm really not sure if this is a problem within the PHP or the css, but i have 2 pastebin links for anyone willing to help. I'm making a simple webgame but the CSS content only shows up about half the time. I host through godaddy if it makes any difference.

links to the page and to the pastebin:

Thanks a bunch! I have no idea what would cause it!

EDIT: you may need to type in Frodo on the search pane, its a $_POST so it won't show up if you just click the link.

Maybe I missed something, but I don't see the problem description anywhere.

Whoops! My bad!

The problem is that the CSS tags only show up about 50% of the time. Half the time it shows up as if it isn't finding the css stuff at all and is rather ugly.

I was about to give up trying to get it to break, but then it finally happened. It's returning a 501 Not Implemented error on the CSS file when that happens. Not sure why, but maybe that will help with digging up more information.

Additionally, it's returning a 501 error every time. Most of the time it's on wep.gif. Saw it H04.gif a couple of times, too.

Sometimes images dont show up as well, what does a 501 error mean and is there a way to fix it if I don't own the server?

i'll google it for you ~

This issue may occur if either of the following conditions exist:

* A third-party product is interfering with Internet Explorer.
* The HTTP 1.1 setting is enabled.

sounds like its more of a local problem . Site appears to display fine for me, and style.css exists with no errors. The HTML is messed up on many of the pages and you're using a lot of absolute positioning which isn't ideal for layouts.

BUt that aside I can't see any problems ~ the link shows how to fix that error message.

My signature contains the store of all human knowledge... including this page (http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E501.html). I don't know how to fix it, but I'd bet it's related to godaddy. The code doesn't look wonky just glancing through it.
