I need help hiding a link in a forum. I can't get to it because it's on the server side of the forum and I don't have access but I can hide it or block it with a script. It's a link that simply says "Click Here To Make This Board Ad-Free" at the very bottom.
http://sonyreaderboards.com

Here is what it look like:
<a href="http://www.proboards.com/credit-purchase.cgi?sonyreaderboards.com">Click Here To Make This Board Ad-Free</a>

I took a a shot at it but it's not working:

<style type="text/css">
<span class="hideFromScreen">href="http://www.proboards.com/credit-purchase.cgi?sonyreaderboards.com">Click Here To Make This Board Ad-Free</span>
.hideFromScreen {display:none;}
</style>

Use Firefox as your browser. Get the Add-on called AdBlock Plus. If the advertisements can be suppressed, AdBlock Plus will do it for you.

It almost sounds like you are trying to get rid of a copyright or something and trying to break the TOS. I think the most help you will get is what has been given to you already.

It's not agaisnt TOS to remove, I checked.:rolleyes: They won't tell you how to do though. And if you check the link, you would notice that I don't have a free forum. That's right I don't need the link because I already have an adfree forum because I pay a monthly fee.

I'm not trying to block ads. There are no ads on my site. I run an ad free forum. I'm trying to remove a link not ads.

I wish it was that easy. I can't get to it. It's a simple link and it's a place I don't have direct access, so I have to use a script to alter it.

What you're asking definitely sounds like a violation of Proboard's TOS. The link is added there by them for a reason. To remove it legitimately, users have to pay.

I'm closing this thread.
