View Full Version : Personal Website Design - CGI Search Script?

Hello! :3

This is my first and only post here, but I hope some of you can help me out~ :D I'm interested in maintaining a personal site like this one:

(Link leads to a Japanese website, so Japanese language support required to view properly, sorry ;A; )
[STEAL! Search] (http://steal.under.jp/)

I think the website is using a CGI script for its searching capabilities, but I'm not 100% sure. I believe the script that they are using is based off of this one:

(Japanese only)
CC Search VT (http://ccr.mydisk.jp/ccsvt/)

I want to run a website almost exactly like that that lets visitors search for sites that meets the specific criteria they are looking for, which they can specify by marking the corresponding checkboxes. Typing a keyword into the search box is not necessary and new websites can be added to the database to be included in the search. There are also a few links in the left-hand menu like letting visitors mark sites they would like to keep in a kind of cookies-based "Bookmarks" section as well as a ranking that keeps track of the most visited sites, etc. but I'm not sure if I'll want to use those.

I'm hoping I can find someone to build the site, but I'm on a tight budget (I'm a poor college student working part-time 3 days a week DX) so I'm not sure if this will work out. Just testing the waters! :D Feel free to post here and let me know of any further details you may need, thank you!

It's really hard to imagine exactly what you are trying to achieve here since the sample you have provided is impossible for us to understand. If you could give a more detailed description of what you are trying to do, maybe someone can help.
