Hi is it possible to add an asp form to an html document? im thinking no, but then again, i dont know.

My bosses would like me to add the asp form to the main page of our site. They want the user to enter data and the data be shown on the index page, or on a seperate page.

ASP is a server-side language, meaning it is executed on the server and then can output HTML, XML, text, etc or nothing at all. You build a form using straight markup (HTML elements) and then send the data from the form (usually using a HTTP POST request), which validates / handles the data in some way and can then spit out something on the other end, whether it be an email, or send the data to a database somewhere, just a message that says "thank you", or all of the above simultaneously.

I suggest you ask in the ASP forum.

EDIT:

Start with this overview of ASP (http://www.w3schools.com/ASP/asp_intro.asp).
