View Full Version : Works in FF but not in IE?

Dec 23rd, 2009, 08:55 PM
Hello everyone, I just uploaded my site online and it seems to be only working in FF and not in IE. I tried the site before and it was previously working with IE, but since I last finalized all pages for my site before uploading it it seems to have stopped working with IE even though it opens perfectly with FF.

The last thing I changed to the index page, from what I remember, is changing the payment button at the end of the page, but the same button seems to work fine on another page that opens in IE. Only the index page doesn't seem to open in IE.

The address is www.online-jobs-directory.com, I built the site with dream weaver and it doesn't seem to detect any errors that would make it not work with IE.

All help appreciated,

Hello global.data,
It looks like you have an invalid comment that IE is choking on.
See the bit highlighted in red -
<meta name="description" content="The largest online directory of work from home jobs. Make money with over 3500 legitimate jobs to choose from." />
<link href="default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<style type="text/css">
.h {
font-family: "Comic Sans MS", cursive;

You may also want to have a look at the 702 errors found (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3a%2f%2fwww.online-jobs-directory.com%2f)by the validator :eek:. See the links about validation in my sig below.

yea, i would definetly check the validator it could be one of 700 things as far as the validation is concerned,
cant exactly pinpoint which one but the validator is tricky, you could change one tag and the whole site runs smooth again
good luck

just a quick not, it seems to be workin fine in IE nowbut id definetly still go with Validating it. and also as far as i can see there isnt really much reason to be using XHTML Strict
transitional is useualy allot more lenient
