View Full Version : IE handling problem -- CSS thumbnail image pops up larger image on hover

Nov 17th, 2009, 08:39 PM
Hello again.

I am using CSS to display some thumbnail images, when you hover over them, a larger image with text description pops up on the right side.

All is well, except in IE. In IE, the thumbnails jump up and down on the screen when you hover your mouse between the 1st and 2nd row of thumbnails.

Here is where I "borrowed" the code:

And here is my site:

Clearly there must be something within my own code, on one of the outlying containers, that is causing this behavior -- because I haven't changed any of the original code, and the demo works in IE.

Help is appreciated. Thanks.

You need to fix the errors in your markup first, see http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fbossteel.com%2FServices09test.html&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

Ok, I've fixed up some missing end /> tags, and it validates.

Didn't change the problem, though.

CSS -6 Errors
Xhtml - 79 errors

How does it validate?

Sorry, I forgot to save my corrections in the proper file.
No errors are found.

Could somebody please look again?
I can't figure out what's causing IE to behave like this on the hover.

.centralhome {
margin-top: 0;
/*padding-top: 10px;*/
width: 695px;

Sorry, I forgot to save my corrections in the proper file.
No errors are found. lol, thought you were too lazy and so we can just ignore the case :)

Nope, not lazy. I'm always willing to put in the time to learn.

That top padding was the culprit. Thank you so much!
