View Full Version : How to Keep the background music playing when going to a new page?

I wanna give a background music to my website. But I want the music to keep playing when the new page loads. I mean... whenever any page loads, the music should not stop playing. Is it possible?

Also, I want to give the visitor the ability to play or pause the music. Can you people suggest me some FREE & easily customizable things?

Thanks in advance...

Whenever the browser has to physically reload a page your background music would have to stop.

So... the answer has to be that you don't want the page to completely reload.

Your options include:
- Using frames (traditional FRAME or IFRAME tags)
- Using AJAX to manipulate the DOM elements on your page
- Using Flash

Frames are the easier way to go... but they're generally a terrible idea because you kill most of your search engine optimization.

AJAX is more difficult, mainly because it necessitates a knowledge of JavaScript. Check out jQuery if that's something you want to look into.

Flash is used pretty often, though it requires (obviously) having to learn the Flash IDE, ActionScript, or a combination of both.
