View Full Version : Opens in IE8 but not in Firefox

Hi all,

I have a problem that is driving me insane!

I have created an iframe within a div with an image that loads with the page. There are 8 thumbnails in another div and when clicked the linked picture opens in the iframe. The divs and the iframe are both styled with CSS. The thumbnails are just below the iframe and on the same page.

The problem is that it works fine in IE* but nothing loads in the iframe in Firefox. It almost crashes the browser and all that is displayed are rows of numbers and letters.

Can anyone help please?

Anita :(

Here is the code:

<div id="iframediv">
<iframe name="imageframe" id="imageframe" scrolling="No" frameborder="0" src="pagepics/citylimits.jpg" ></iframe>
<div id="thumbdiv">
<a href="pictures/citylimits/tr1a.jpg" target="imageframe"><img src="pictures/citylimits/tr1a_s.jpg" class="thumbclass" /></a>
<a href="pictures/citylimits/tr1b.jpg" target="imageframe"><img src="pictures/citylimits/tr1b_s.jpg" class="thumbclass" /></a>
<a href="pictures/citylimits/tr1c.jpg" target="imageframe"><img src="pictures/citylimits/tr1c_s.jpg" class="thumbclass" /></a>
<a href="pictures/citylimits/tr1d.jpg" target="imageframe"><img src="pictures/citylimits/tr1d_s.jpg" class="thumbclass" /></a>
<a href="pictures/citylimits/tr1e.jpg" target="imageframe"><img src="pictures/citylimits/tr1e_s.jpg" class="thumbclass" /></a>
<a href="pictures/citylimits/tr1f.jpg" target="imageframe"><img src="pictures/citylimits/tr1f_s.jpg" class="thumbclass" /></a>
<a href="pictures/citylimits/tr1g.jpg" target="imageframe"><img src="pictures/citylimits/tr1g_s.jpg" class="thumbclass" /></a>
<a href="pictures/citylimits/tr1h.jpg" target="imageframe"><img src="pictures/citylimits/tr1h_s.jpg" class="thumbclass" /></a>

Hello again Anita2105,

Are you using a frameset DocType? Like this I think? - <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Frameset//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/frameset.dtd">

Not sure why else it wouldn't work, would need to see more than just the snippet you've provided.
