Does anyone use dreamweaver in their web devlopement.

Do you find it useful?

I use it, mainly because im used to the syntax and i like the ftp. I dont use its built in functions anymore, so its more like a glorified notpad with ftp to me.

why did you stop using the other stuff then?

I use Dreamweaver in code view. I too like the built in ftp. I love the site manager because I'm usually managing 4 or 5 sites at once. I don't use the built in functions mainly because I know enough to be able to write my own or use a better alternative. I do like that DW converts copy and paste content from a word document to clean html without all of the fluff. There is a feature I don't use very often but it is still useful. The ability to save code snippets that you use often. A simple double click inserts them for you. I don't like the implementation of swfobject that Adobe uses. I think its too bloated and confusing because you need to change the flash path like 3 times. I like the mass find and replace. You can use regex as well. Updating site links as you move or rename files is cool too. The syntax highlighting and the code formatting help as well. Their JS syntaxing has gotten better. It can understand functions from other js files and tell you what parameters they take in. It even gives you a warning of any parse errors that might occur in your JS. You can use a local server too with dreamweaver if you wanted to. It does have database/php functions but again I prefer writing my own.
