View Full Version : silly problem

I like to code. It's fun to type in some text and save the file and see what happens. I like the process of organizing and editing large amounts of different kinds of files. It's almost like doing a puzzle. I know basically languages that have to do with the web. I can make anything you show me.(provided I know the right language) The silly problem is ... I stink when it comes to making it look good! I get these wacky ideas and put them together thinking "that'd be awesome!!!" It never is. I've read all the rules about big no-no's and the best practices ... it doesn't help. Although I can definitely tell you when it looks bad! *sigh* Do you think there's any hope for me ... as in should I just quit, just do it for fun or is there actually work out there for someone like me?

So, you're not a designer. There's more to the web industry than just that. Focus on your niche--I suppose, for you, that would be server-side work and administration, yes? You don't have to be an all-rounder; not a lot of people can be, as coding is a logical skill whilst designing is an artistic one.
