View Full Version : Help with onclick command referencing embedded quicktime video

I apologize for my "noobishness" but I am not really a coder. I am a producer trying to embed some of my content. I have been embedding video on my site now for a while very generically. I currently use the "easy" js method of embedding which has been fine for a while. Example:

<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
QT_WriteOBJECT('MySiteMovie.mov', '570', '336', '',
'href', 'MySiteMovie.mov',
'obj#id', 'MySiteMov',
'emb#name', 'MySiteMov',
'enablejavascript', 'true');

This works fine but what I am trying to do now is basically tie the href to the Stop() function provided with AC_Quicktime.js with an onclick command:

I tried wrapping the writeobject script in div tags similar to this:

<div id="content" onclick="javascript:document.MySiteMov.Stop();">

I have also tried anchoring the script with the onclick command included. My results are the same.

This works in OS X Firefox and Safari (when the playing video is clicked opening it in Quicktime player the embedded version stops) but does not work on a PC web client Firefox or IE.

Essentially I want the user to be able to click the video as it is playing in the browser which will pop the video out into quicktimeplayer and at the same time stop the embedded video.

Thank you for any help you may provide.
