Hey folks,

I left the game more than a year ago and am rusty as hell. I told my friends I'd whip up a quick wedding site for them and did so. Stop me if you've heard this before... looks fine in Firefox, like crap in Explorer.

Here's the site:
www.nickandmeghann.com (http://www.nickandmeghann.com)
Here's the sheet:
CSS (http://nickandmeghann.com/place-styles.css)

Now, I'm guessing there's too much wrong here for any specific help, though I could be wrong. If so, some general guidelines as to what systemic things I am doing wrong here would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't pay any attention to explorere while writing it up because I figured, "Hey, it's been years and two whole versions, obviously MS must have made a browser that can read CSS by now. I mean... Right?"

No.

Thanks for your time!

Roderic

You're doctype is incorrect, putting IE into quirks. Use this one:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"

I'll be damned. That wasn't so hard was it?

They really wanted a specific script font which I provided in the code. But it looks like specifying "cursive" is giving my crappy old test computer the excuse to display "comic sans" which is sort of god awful, especially in this application.

Anyone know how or what order a browser determines what to display for "cursive"? Anyway to effect that? How about another script like font that is common for most computers that would be a better option than Comic. As in, I guess, any.

Thanks again for that type help. I just opened up my old Homesite and started typing!

Cheers!
