Now this is cool. (http://arstechnica.com/web/news/2009/03/mozilla-and-khronos-to-bring-standards-based-3d-to-the-web.ars) Mozilla has teamed up with OpenGL to work on an open standard that would allow OpenGL and 3d graphics to work with the browsers javascript engine allowing it to draw, I would think, on <canvas>. They want to create this standard by the end of the year.

It would seem everything would be in place for all the browsers right now but for the OpenGL part. Of course, none of this would work in IE because IE does not properly support the DOM, <canvas>, or have a proper javascript implementation and it's too slow.

best start looking for ye olde VRML scripts :)
