I have been teaching myself css for the last 4 days straight. I have my website almost exactly the way I want it except for one thing. My right column floats down underneath the main content & left columns when I re-size my browser. I have tried an exhausting array of different things with no luck. It only seems to display the way I'd like it to in Safari. I'm really stuck.

Here is my code:

body { background-image: ( address blocked: See forum rules);

margin: 0px;
padding-left: 8%;
padding-right: 8%;
padding-top: 10px;
background-attachment: scroll;
min-width: 1000px;
}

#header {
background: #00ff00;
background-image: (address blocked: See forum rules);
width: 100%;
height: 125px;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
margin-bottom: 5px;
border-style: ridge;
border-color: black;
min-width: 1050px; }

#leftcol {
background-image: ( address blocked: See forum rules);
float: left;
width: 14%;
height: 722px;
border-style: ridge;
border-color: black;
min-width: 145px;

}
#rightcol {
background-image: ( address blocked: See forum rules);
width: 12.5%;
height: 722px;
border-style: ridge;
border-color: black;
min-width: 142px;
overflow: hidden;
position: inherit;
}

#content {
background: #fff;
float: left;
width: 70%;
height: 722px;
border-style: ridge;
border-color: black;
margin-left: 5px;
margin-right: 5px;
margin-bottom: 5px;
min-width: 735px;
}
#footer {
background: #660066;
clear: none;
width: 1050px;
height: auto;
border-style: ridge;
border-color: black;
margin-top: 5px;
position: absolute;
}

Hi GarrettH,
Welcome to CF. I'd recommend you to read "Why tables for layout is stupid? (http://www.hotdesign.com/seybold/)" first.

We need to supply a valid markup (http://validator.w3.org/docs/help.html#validation_basics) with a valid DOCTYPE (http://www.alistapart.com/stories/doctype/) at the top to get a good output from the browser. See the erros in you current markup, http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fpotclassified.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

So, I'd recommend you to check http://www.bonrouge.com/3c-hf-fluid.php, which is a good 3 column fluid layout.

There was a reason why your url was removed from your first thread in the first place.

a few things.

1. to avoid breaching the rules of the site or of offending anyone, you should replace the content of your page with generic text. look up 'lorum ipsum generator' in your favourite search engine.

2. the width of your header is too wide for 1024x768 resolution. causes horiz/horrid scrollbar

3. consider removal of scrollbar on main text section.

4. the 'right' section div needs to come before the table in your html source. then you need to tell it to float : right and not float : none, which I doubt is an acceptable value. ie, if you want no floating, you would leave it out of the css.

5. you have a table to throw out. Use divs like you did for the left and right and footer sections.

That's about it for starters.
