Hi

I have 2 pages right now, index.htm and about.htm and for some reason the about page shifts over by about 10px. Anyone know why?

You are getting a scrolling bar on about. That is why it is moving over.

where is the scroll bar?

When your page gets taller, as in /about.htm the browser puts up a scroll bar on the right so you can scroll down to see the rest of the page.

The cure for this is to force the scroll bar all the time, even on /index where the hieght doesn't require one.

See this demo http://nopeople.com/CSS/vertical_scrollbar/index.html
Yo can see there is no content at all but there is a scrollbar. View the source to see how it's done.

Oh sorry, i thought you meant there was a scrollbar in the right column.

Thanks excavator, I had to change the bottom margin of your code to 1px to make it work but its working now i believe.

thanks

what im actually trying to do with the about page is split the text field into multiple newspaper style columns that are fixed height and width so that they fit perfectly between the dotted lines at the bottom. I keep reading that its possible but I can't find any tutorials on it. Does anyone know of any or is there a better way to do it?
