View Full Version : Need help with positioning

Hi all,

Im a novice to web site coding, and I have a website I have programmed up but having some problems. I have a header, body (central table) and a footer.

This is loaded from a simple code that uses the include command to load each section in, as below.

I then have some image that can be clicked on that are postioned relative.

After this I am trying to insert text that sits next to each other of these images, however, each time I add each bit of text, it force the footer down the page.

Does any one know why and how to prevent this?? (please make it as simple as possible, Im not great at this)

Please note: I was not able to use a table layout for these images and text cause they are all position differently to each other, and needed to be positions accuratly around the circle they sit in.

many thanks in advance

define("thismodule", getenv("SCRIPT_NAME"));

Hello beefcake,
How can we position anything next to an image we cant see and have no idea what of it's size?
Image related questions really need a link to the test site. There are some very smart people here more than willing to help you but you need to give us some help too.

hi beefcake,

I done a similar thing for a marketing site i created a few months back, where i had five images with writing surrounding a central image. I used a seperate layer for each of the surrounding images. The when i set the position of the image within that layer (ie. align="left") the text lined up relative to that and stayed contained within the layer. Then i set the position of the layer through the attributes contained within the <div style> property.

Theres probably a much quicker way of doing this, by the way but it worked.
Good luck with your website.
